In Home Engagement Session . Omaha, Nebraska .

When the weather gets too cold, head indoors for your engagement session! Couples always get fearful of having their pictures taken in their home because it might be “messy” or not “Pinterest perfect”. But you know what? That’s what makes your home yours! I love walking into a home and seeing what makes it unique and special to the people that live there. And if you’re truly a couple that wants a more stylish, kept up space for your shoot then there are other options. You can always rent. studio space, air b&b, or borrow a friends home—it’s all been done before!

Having your engagement photos taken inside is best suited for those who are comfortable cuddling up in front of the camera, aren’t afraid to have intimate moments and things photographed, and love a bit of moody lighting. Thankfully, these two wanted all of that and more. Being mid-November helped aide their decision as well since the weather can get colder and make staying inside for photos an optimal idea!

For these two and their in-home engagement session, we used the home that Etta is currently living in with Elijah’s sister and husband. It’s a unique arrangement, but while Elijah is in Florida for work it made sense for them, and it made the cutest backdrop for their engagement session! It was so cool to see that even though the home wasn’t theirs, that they felt totally comfortable inside. The house had images of both families displayed, and the design matched everyone’s style. It really was a perfect place to document such an important time in their life!

We captured both digital and 35mm film photos for these engagement photos, so be sure to scroll all the way through the gallery to see both!
